In this regard, in an interaction with Imaging Solution magazine, Mr Masood Khan,CEO,Image Star, shares his views and their brand policy and vision. Image Star Print Solutions Pvt Ltd, based in Chennai, is a leading provider of aftermarket imaging consumables in India under their brand name Image King. Image King provides a wide range of imaging consumables, including toner powders, toner cartridges, cartridge parts, etc. Image Star became the 2nd biggest importer of compatible toner cartridges and the 5th biggest importer of toner powder in India
Mr Masood Khan shares how they dealt with the lockdown in 2020, “During the lockdown, we prepared and planned well in advance how to deal with the crisis–our staff started working from home and we maintained continuous contact with our partners. All of us utilized that time in clearing all the pending works and planned for future. COVID-19 crisis turned into an opportunity to develop new working style – anywhere, anytime. Even during the COVID-19 crisis, we at Image Star appointed new staff at many levels and expanded our operations. We recorded a significant growth in the last 6 months.”
Image King has a wide network of clients, extending to every corner of the country. The factors that made Image King a favorite amongst customers include international standards of quality; wide distribution network; timely delivery of consignments; and customer-focused approach. Image King has a well-equipped, state-of-the-art warehouse in Chennai to maintain high availability and ensure prompt supply to their customers across India. Their centralized warehouse enables Image King to reduce costs and ensure better stock management and delivery.
During 2020-21, Image King attained new achievements and crossed new milestones of success. In this regard, Mr Masood Khan comments, “To our credit, the government of India awarded Image Star the Green Channel status for imports which is known as AEO status. Also Image Star got OEM Status from GEM (Government E Market), which is a very prime status on the portal. This has given us a big opening in supporting our channels to align to with the GEM portal. Next, Image Star also signed up with ‘salesforce.com’ entering CRM (a business intelligence tool company of USA) during the lockdown! With this Tool, Image Star integrated Tally, SMS, WhatsApp, mails, logistics management with tracking facility, and many other features like push messages into Salesforce. The year 2020 turned out to be Image Star’s Silver Jubilee year and the team of Image Star made it a point to make this year a memorable one. With an extensive teamwork, despite lockdown and economic slowdown, we saw Image Star’s sales increasing significantly in 2020, compared to 2019. Many new partners from B & C category cities joined us and started dealing with Image King’s products.”

Talking about their channel policy, Mr Masood Khan observes, “Our main strength is our channel partners and our strong bond with our partners is the platform for our mutual growth! In line with our adage ‘Image King – Power Of Clarity,’ our transparent policies are framed in such a way they enable our partners and us ‘Grow Together.’ Time to time we plan new development programs to support and motivate our partners.”
Regarding their future plans and the message he wants give to his partners, Mr Masood Khan shares, “Crises and setbacks like the lockdown in 2020 make us tough and we often come back stronger than before. On the lighter side, India recorded highest GST collection during pandemic year 2020-21. Image Star firmly believes in hardwork, honesty and efficiency. Now Indian consumers want more quality consumables and Made in India products at affordable prices. As an Indian it is our duty is to support the govt policies of Make in India and Atma Nirbhar Bharat. We at IMAGE STAR will strive towards these objectives diligently in the coming years.”
