One significant development in 2024 has been the imposition of duty on the imports of black toner cartridges. This might cause an increase of the imported cartridges by 15-20%, but it is also pushing the Make in India program forward. Today, about half a dozen entrepreneurs have already started assembling black cartridges in India. In the coming years, we can also expect improvement in the quality of the Made in India cartridges. This is definitely one step forward towards making India a global manufacturing hub.
