Indigo Prints Smart Pvt Ltd, founded in Mumbai, is a leading Manufacturer, Supplier, Importer, and Trader of a wide range of Imaging Consumables under their brand name Formujet. Apart from importing raw materials and finished products from reputed manufacturers abroad, Formujet also assembles Printer Cartridges and Manufactures Dotmatrix Ribbons, Printer Parts, and Inkjet Accessories in their factory in India. In an interaction with Imaging Solution, Mr. Shashank Ruiwale, President, Indigo Prints Smart Pvt Ltd, shares about their latest initiatives, product policy, and future plans.

Mr. Shashank Ruiwale comments, “We recently shifted our factory and warehouse to a new location of 30,000 square-foot area within Bhiwandi (Near Mumbai). This new location has State-of-the-Art facilities which allow us store and ship our products more efficiently to our partners across India. We launched cartridges for several new laser printer models of HP, Canon, and other brands in the last 6 months. A few months back we also launched Cartridges and consumables for the large format printers and inkjet plotters. We have been getting very good response from the market for these products.”
Formujet’s product range includes compatible toner cartridges, toner powders for printers and copiers, cartridge parts and accessories, inkjet printer parts like maintenance box, pickup rollers, waste ink containers, industrial inkjet printing products, desktop inks, sublimation inks, Formujet photo inks, copier toner cartridges, refillable cartridges, jumbo cartridges, large format printer inks, large format printer cartridges, toner cartridge and inkjet chips, dotmatrix ribbon cassettes, OPC drums, doctor blades, etc.
Regarding their Channel Policy, Mr. Shashank Ruiwale reveals, “For us, the supply channel and the channel partners are very important and we sell only through the partner network. We continuously keep launching new partner incentive schemes and sales promotion activities for the benefit of our partners. We have a strong distribution network across India which we strengthen from time to time adding new partners to penetrate into new areas and extend our reach.”
Talking about the challenges and their business strategies, “The presence of low-quality unbranded imaging consumables sold by the dealers and retailers at low prices continue to be a challenge leading to a drop in the MOP and average quality in the market. But, Formujet has adopted policy of Quality First. Thus our partners enjoy immense satisfaction and stress-free business. We grew about 15% in the FY2023-24, and continue to strategize for future growth and expansions. We continually redefine our strategies to overcome competition and other hurdles in the market, and we are expecting better growth in FY2024-25.”
Talking about their manufacturing initiatives in India, Mr. Shashank Ruiwale shares, “Currently, we are assembling laser printer cartridges; and manufacturing dotmatrix ribbons, inkjet accessories and printer parts. We always use the best raw materials so our products stand out for quality and consistency. Currently, we have over 500 SKUs and over 100 of these we manufacture in our plant in India and the rest we import. Our Make in India program is going fine though it is still at the nascent stages. We are working on increasing the proportion of our Made in India portfolio in steps. The fact that the initiatives of the government of India support business growth and domestic manufacturing is encouraging.”

Briefing about their Future Plans, Mr. Shashank Ruiwale adds, “Besides providing top quality products, we also have an excellent after-sales-service and replacement warranty for the end-customers wherever applicable. We will continue to add new product SKUs and product verticals to our range. Offering the best possible customer satisfaction will remain the fundamental principle of Formujet. In addition to the products we have been selling well, we want to increase our focus on expanding our copier range and their sales further.
