Lapcare continues to lead with forward-thinking solutions, strong B2B growth, and a commitment to 'Make in India'
1.5K

Lapcare, a trusted brand by RX Infotech, offers a wide range of IT, telecom, and imaging products, ensuring quality and innovation. In an interaction with Imaging Solution Magazine, Mr. Girish Mamtani, B2B and Government Business Head, RX Infotech shares insights on Lapcare’s growth, B2B strategies, and ‘Make in India’ commitment.

Could you discuss RX Infotech’s journey and the Lapcare brand?

RX Infotech’s journey spans over 20 years, and we’ve built a strong foundation with our brand Lapcare, which has become a household name in India. Lapcare offers a vast portfolio—over 45 categories of products, ranging from IT peripherals to telecom and imaging solutions. Today, Lapcare is available nationwide, with 26 branches and more than 120 service centers across India. This wide reach allows us to connect with customers in every state and support them wherever they are. We’ve pursued a variety of go-to-market (GTM) strategies, including B2B, government, and enterprise channels, to grow and sustain our presence.

Could you elaborate on your recent progress in B2B and government initiatives?

Over the past year, we’ve strategically focused on government projects, particularly through GeM (Government e-Marketplace). We’ve introduced 13 different products on GeM, and we’re proud to have high ratings on this platform—4.7 in GeM ratings and overall satisfaction at 5. This reflects the quality and reliability of our products, which range from peripherals like keyboards and mouse combos to SSDs, RAM, and Made in India antivirus software. Lapcare’s monitors and toner cartridges, especially, have been performing very well. We are keen to expand our product offerings on GeM to meet the needs of public sector undertakings, central government departments, and state-level agencies.

How has partner response been, and how do you foresee channel evolution?

Our trade partners have been incredibly supportive, and we’re committed to them as a core part of our business. We currently have 260 trade partners, and our goal is to grow this network to over a thousand. Partners play a pivotal role in our strategy—they are essential in servicing GeM customers and reaching out to public sector clients. We maintain an equitable approach, where 95-98% of our business is driven through these partners, allowing them to build and sustain their margins. In strategic cases where OEMs are preferred or where high turnovers are required, we may handle bidding ourselves. Nonetheless, our trade partners remain at the heart of our operations.

What recent innovations or new products has Lapcare introduced within its extensive range?

One of our most recent introductions has been the laser toner cartridges, which have undergone rigorous assessments to meet GeM’s standards. This is an exciting step for us, as it represents a move towards expanding our imaging solutions. Lapcare has been in the toner cartridge market for around six years, but now we’re enhancing our “Make in India” initiative, providing high-quality, India-made toner cartridges to meet the demands of government clients and enterprise customers alike. We also have niche products such as privacy screens and security locks for corporate clients, and we are exploring additional categories to meet enterprise needs.

What compliance standards do Lapcare products meet for large enterprises and MNCs?

Compliance is a priority for us. Our products meet the highest compliance standards, especially for B2B and enterprise markets. This adherence ensures that even multinational clients find our offerings reliable and aligned with their requirements. We aim to reach clients at the highest levels and take on large-scale projects where product reliability and compliance are non-negotiable. This commitment to quality has established Lapcare as a trusted enterprise partner, and we’re continuously expanding our portfolio to cater to these markets.

How does Lapcare’s ‘Make in India’ commitment enhance customer experience and value?

Lapcare is committed to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, which goes beyond simply manufacturing in India. We focus on creating a quality user experience, ensuring our supply chain delivers high-standard products to our customers. Our Indian-made products, such as monitors and antivirus software, have become popular for their value and reliability. This focus allows us to provide competitive pricing while also ensuring trade partners have assured margins. Customers benefit from affordable, high-quality products, and partners can count on stable, profitable business opportunities.

What are RX Infotech’s revenue goals, and how will they be achieved?

We’re currently on track to achieve a turnover of 500 crores, with an ambitious target of reaching 650 crores in the near future. A significant portion of this growth will come from expanding our trade partner network, enhancing our presence on GeM, and bringing in new products under the Lapcare brand. We’re also building strategic alliances with system integrators and solution providers, inviting them to join us in creating a one-stop-shop for all IT needs. Our portfolio offers end-to-end solutions that cover a wide spectrum of IT requirements.

What is the onboarding process for partners joining the Lapcare network?

Joining the Lapcare network is a straightforward process. We simply ask partners for a commitment to adhere to GeM rules, along with basic documentation to verify their identity through GST and other regulatory information. Once these steps are completed, we provide authorization to work on GeM. This streamlined onboarding process reflects our dedication to expanding our partner base and creating mutual growth opportunities.

What’s your message to system integrators, providers, and customers considering Lapcare?

Lapcare offers a comprehensive product range and a trusted brand name built over two decades. We are a one-stop solution for all IT needs, providing quality, affordability, and service excellence. We invite system integrators, solution providers, and end customers to join us in this journey, tapping into our extensive portfolio and enjoying a high standard of support and reliability. For partners, Lapcare assures good margins and consistent support, making it a worthwhile collaboration for anyone in the IT distribution network.
