In an interaction with the Imaging Solution Magazine, Mr. Asit Choksi, Director at PTDPL, shares about their manufacturing strategy, market trends and future plans.

Mr. Asit Choksi shares, “We import our raw materials from the Japanese, European and US companies and have 2.5 decades of rich experience in toner formulation, development and manufacturing. We manufacture and provide monochrome toners for the entire range of copiers and laser printers. Our main focus is on Bulk sales with 65 to 70% being in that category; balance being in brands & exports. We manufacture around 140 tons of toners per month, and plan to scale it up in next year. Our focus is mainly on domestic toner market, with about 20% export sales. Overall, PTDPL’s share in India is about 25 to 30% and intend to increase it to around 35 to 40% in coming years.”
PTDPL has two toner manufacturing facilities with a production capacity of 2000 tons per year. The company has a well-equipped R&D and testing facility. PTDPL’s production and QC departments are manned by professionally qualified and trained managers, engineers, and workmen. PTDPL’s main focus is on developing and producing black toners of superior quality and consistency and providing them at affordable prices. The company is now manufacturing compatible toners for Canon, HP, Samsung, Ricoh, Xerox, Toshiba, Kyocera Mita, etc.
Mr. Asit Choksi adds, “The anti-dumping duty on black toners did help the domestic toners be contained owing to the Antidumping duty on their product. Currently, toner market is flat due to digitalization and reduced printing. In order to keep afloat and enhance the market presence, we launched newer variants of several toners for HP and Canon copiers and printers in past 6 months. The impact of dropping Exchange rate and marginal increase in sea freight have little effect on our production, demand and operations. Our main selling points will remain uncompromising quality at affordable prices.”
