Ricoh has announced the release of two A3 color refurbished multifunction printers (MFPs), the RICOH IM C4500F CE and RICOH IM C3000F CE, scheduled for launch on January 21, 2025. These devices aim to support environmental sustainability and digital transformation for businesses through innovative features and reduced environmental impact.
Ricoh has long pursued environmentally friendly practices through its “Comet Circle™” framework, established in 1994 to reduce environmental impact across product life cycles. The company began selling refurbished machines in 1997 and recently rebranded its remanufactured devices as Circular Economy machines. This shift underscores Ricoh’s commitment to advancing a circular and decarbonized society in collaboration with its customers.
The RICOH IM C4500F CE and C3000F CE incorporate advanced technologies to enhance environmental performance:
- High Reuse Rates: These models achieve an average reuse rate of 86% by weight, exceeding previous standards. Technologies such as AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) and robotic systems streamline the selection, refurbishment, and inspection of reused components.
- Lower Environmental Impact: Compared to newly manufactured machines, these CE models reduce lifecycle environmental impact by approximately 59%, including materials procurement, production, transportation, usage, and recycling.
- Always Current Technology: For the first time in Ricoh’s refurbished product line, these models support Ricoh’s “Always Current Technology,” allowing users to update internal software and add new functions or applications remotely via a network.
- User-Friendly MultiLink-Panel: Equipped with a 10.1-inch MultiLink-Panel, the devices enable seamless integration with applications such as “RICOH Simple Storage Utilization” (available for a fee). This feature promotes digitalization and effective data utilization, offering functionality and ease of use on par with newly manufactured models.
