Prefil System founded in 2001 in Delhi, led by its Proprietor, Mr. Umesh Chand Aggarwal, initially started with providing cartridge refilling services for corporate and launched their Printon brand in 2007 providing Laser Printer Toners, Toner Cartridges, Cartridge and Printer Components for Black and Color Printers, through wholesaling and trading. In 2020, Printon added Copier Toners, Copier Cartridges and Cartridge Components to its portfolio. Today, they also provide toners in bulk unbranded. Recently, Prefil System also started assembling cartridges in India. In an interaction with Imaging Solution magazine, Mr. Umesh Chand Aggarwal shares how they started their business in a humble manner and grew up to become a leading player in the imaging industry.

Mr. Aggarwal shares, “Our USPs are uncompromising quality, promised page-yield of our cartridges, high availability on and prompt delivery. Next, we maintain cordial and long-term relationships with our business partners and customers and deal through transparent business policies. We do business only with the select and trusted partners with proven track record of honesty and commitment. We aim to grow in a slow-and-steady manner; we don’t believe in taking long jumps. Our policies, based on honesty, credibility and high standards, helped us to grow from scratch to one of the leading distributors in the imaging industry today. Our partners also have been very honest and committed while dealing with us and contributed to our success and helped Printon to evolve into one of the reputed imaging product brands in the Indian imaging industry with an average annual growth rate of 10% and we will maintain that rate in the coming years. Our assembling of cartridges is also going well and we will expand it further. This is expected to push up our sales further.”
Now, Prefil System has reduced their refilling operations significantly and concentrating mainly on promoting their Printon brand through wholesaling and trading. The product-line of Printon also includes Compatible Color Cartridges and Cartridge Components for all the major brands of printers. Prefil System follows stringent quality control procedures and exceptional customer service policies and strives to supply quality products and services comparable to OEMs.
“In most cases, people compromise with quality attracted by low prices, but we do not compromise on quality. We are rather committed to providing better quality even it means lowering our profit margins, because quality comes at a cost. But in the long-run quality wins. That’s the reason all our customers and partners have been with us for a long time; they don’t have to worry about quality. Next, by associating with us, they get all the products they need at one place. We have a complete range of cartridge components such as drums, blades, springs, imported empty cartridges, etc and imported empties of laser toner cartridges. Demand for color consumables is growing fast, but still mono forms a major chunk of our business. We provide black toners sourced from ITDL and provide color toners imported from Taiwan and other countries,” Mr. Aggarwal adds.
All the products of Printon have a warranty equal to or exceeding those of OEM manufacturers. Printon ensures that their company’s products offer the best performance and value-for-money to the end users; and decent returns to its partners. Talking about their future plans, Mr. Aggarwal concludes, “We witnessed decent growth, both in terms of value and volume, in the last few years and expect this growth will continue. We offer our products Pan-India, whereas the major portion of business comes from NCR and North India. Currently, we have partners all across the 29 states in India. In FY2024-25, we want to add new partners and further expand our reach and availability and strengthen our brand Pan-India.
