Canon is set to release two new printers in mid-March 2025: the GX Series business inkjet printers and the imagePROGRAF PRO-G2 large-format inkjet printer. Both products cater to different market segments with distinct features tailored to business efficiency and high-quality photo printing needs.
GX Series: Business Inkjet Printers – GX7130 and GX5130
The new GX Series includes the inkjet multifunction printer “GX7130” and the inkjet printer “GX5130,” both equipped with the high-capacity “GIGA TANK” ink tank system. They are ideal for small offices and individual workplaces looking to improve productivity.
- High-Capacity Ink and Paper for Reduced Refills
The GX Series supports large-scale printing with a single black ink bottle capable of printing approximately 9,000 A4 pages, and color ink bottles (cyan, magenta, yellow) enabling around 21,000 pages. The large paper cassette holds up to 250 sheets of plain paper per tray, reducing the need for frequent ink and paper replenishment. The rear paper tray also supports various paper types, including windowed envelopes, posters, long-format POP, and labels, making it suitable for businesses across multiple industries like retail and education. - Cost-Effective High-Quality Business Printing
The printers use pigment-based inks for both black and color prints, and advanced image processing technology enhances printing quality on plain paper. The GX Series delivers improved contrast, vivid color reproduction for charts and graphs, and sharp, smear-resistant text, making it perfect for high-visibility reports and presentations.
imagePROGRAF PRO-G2: High-Quality Photo Printer for Amateur Photographers
Canon’s new imagePROGRAF PRO-G2 is a large-format inkjet printer tailored for amateur photographers who desire high-quality prints of their photos. This A3+ compatible model is equipped with 10 colors of pigment-based ink designed to deliver superior photo quality with rich colors and deep blacks.
- Enhanced Lightfastness for Long-Lasting Prints
The “LUCIA PROⅡ” pigment ink is highly resistant to UV rays, extending the print’s durability from 60 years to 200 years, making it ideal for long-term storage and display. Additionally, the ink includes a wax additive, which enhances scratch resistance when printing on glossy or semi-glossy papers. This makes the prints more durable and easier to handle, even during framing or transportation. - Chroma Optimizer for Consistent Gloss and High-Quality Prints
The addition of the transparent ink “Chroma Optimizer” ensures uniform glossiness on glossy and semi-glossy papers, preventing glare and maintaining color accuracy regardless of lighting conditions. For fine art paper, the printer uses a matte black ink that enhances the depth and richness of black areas, delivering vibrant colors and textures with exceptional print quality. - Eco-Friendly Packaging
Canon has committed to reducing plastic waste by replacing foam packaging with recyclable cardboard and pulp molds, contributing to a more sustainable environmental footprint.
