A fully integrated JetXpert print station is now available from ImageXpert. Building on the success of the JetXpert platform for analysis of drops-in-flight, ImageXpert is now offering a JetXpert system with integrated print station. Characterizing performance of drops-in-flight is a critical step in successful inkjet system development and integration. However, print testing is often a separate but equally important task.
The new JetXpert system offers all of the capabilities of traditional JetXpert systems for drop watching and analysis of drops-in-flights along with a fully integrated print station. This integrated solution enables efficient and economical testing by combining both capabilities in one piece of equipment. “By offering print test capabilities on our proven JetXpert platform, ink jet developers can make informed, data-driven decisions and changes to their process with a very short cycle time,” says Yair Kipman, President of ImageXpert. “Ink jet development is often a very iterative process.
By providing nearly instant feedback about performance of drops-in-flight and providing the capability to do print testing using the same system, time per iteration is reduced dramatically.” The JetXpert system enables visualization and measurement of jetting performance including drop volume, velocity and trajectory. Measurements can also be collected over time to assess system stability, dropout rates, and variability. A quick release print head stage enables efficient position changeover from the JetXpert station for analysis of drops-in-flight to the print station for real-time print testing.
The standard configuration of the print station includes a manual stage with an encoder for sample handling. An upgrade option for automated testing via a conveyor with an integrated encoder, and a high-end option offering a linear stage for high accuracy printing are available. The new JetXpert print station configurations are available as fully integrated systems and are also available for retrofit of existing JetXpert systems that are already deployed in the field. “Both print testing and analysis of drops-in-flight is important during ink formulation and process development and optimization,” Kipman continues. “We are very excited to offer the JetXpert print station system, since it provides an efficient, cost-effective ink jet testing solution to both new and existing customers.”
