New ProEarth Laser Toner Cartridges Are First Compatible Cartridges Specifically Designed for Recycling

Cartridge recycling is a serious challenge for the industry, with more than 300 million cartridges filling landfills each year.  The U.S. EPA has classified toner cartridges as a “focused material,” requiring special handling in disposal and recycling.“ProEarth toners give consumers the confidence that their toner will perform well and not add to the growing problem of cartridges in landfills,” says Harry Nicodem, president of ProEarth Toners.

A 20-year veteran of the print cartridge industry, Nicodem has designed numerous innovative cartridge products focused to recycling and reuse. “With the introduction of ProEarth Toners, we are holding ourselves to a new, higher standard of accountability,” he notes. The new toners feature a patent-pending tracking system coded onto each cartridge to provide accountability and responsible recycling. Through the ProEarth program, cartridges are disassembled and properly downstreamed. ProEarth provides built-in incentives for customers to return and recycle the toner cartridges.
