In an interaction with Imaging Solution magazine, Mr. Prajesh Patel, Founder, Polyton Nano Technology, shares their company’s technological innovations, business strategy, future plans and vision. Polyton Nano Technology founded in 1999 in Rajkot (Gujarat) manufactures and provides world-class toners (monochrome and color) for printers and copiers to the Indian users and to OEMs under their brand name Polyton and exports to Dubai, Egypt, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc under their brand name XOLOR.
Mr. Prajesh Patel comments, “As you know, we are the leading manufacturer and provider of color toners for printers and copiers in India with no competitor at present. We have stopped monochrome toner production and focusing now only on advanced CryoMilledcolor toner manufacturing, because we have higher margins in color toner compared to monochrome and no competitors in color toner production in India. About 95% of our color toners are exported and only 5% for domestic market. Our liquid color toner launched in April 2021 for HPIndigo press is selling well. And we recently launched color powder toner for Konica Minolta AccurioPress c14000/c12000 High Speed production press which delivers 120-140 prints per minute.”
Polyton provides color toners and cartridges for a variety of models of the leading printer and copier brands such as Xeikon, Kodak, Canon, Ricoh, Konica Minolta, Toshiba, HP, Samsung and Sharp. Polyton invented a ground-breaking High-Tech CryoMilled Technology, which is a unique manufacturing process that reduces the cost of production of toners significantly besides improving quality.
Talking about their CryoMilled Technology to manufacture toners, Mr. Prajesh Patel comments, “After extensive R&D in our labs, we invented CryoMilled Technology which can be used for manufacturing mono as well as color toners. This technology is not currently available with any other manufacturer. With the traditional technology, which the manufacturers across the globe use, nearly 20% of the raw material goes as a waste which has to be separated and recycled and that involves extra cost of energy, effort, time and electricity. Our unique CryoMilled technology helps to maximize toner production, reduce costs, and deliver superior quality equal to that of Japanese makers at much lower costs. Our toners are far superior to China-made compatible color toners! We applied for patent for our CryoMilled Technology and once we get the patent, we can sell this technology and license to other color toner makers.”
Polyton incepted in 1999 started manufacturing mono toners in 2005 and color toners in 2012. Now they are focusing solely on manufacturing and providing color toners for printers and copiers. Polyton, at present, has 3 state-of-the art manufacturing plants in Gujarat: one in Rajkot (Gujarat) and two in Morbi (Gujarat), backed by the best equipped R&D departments and professional teams.
Talking about their future plans, Mr. Prajesh Patel adds, “We are not using any raw materials from China; we procure raw materials from Japan, Germany and USA-based providers and some from the local Indian raw materials manufacturers. Our exports of color toners are growing well YoY and we are also getting excellent feedback from our overseas customers. Want also want to significantly expand our production capacity of color toners in the next 2 years. We are in negotiations some partners in Egypt and Vietnam to start color toner manufacturing plants in these countries. In the coming years, we want to establish XOLOR as a leading global brand for color toners.”
