Mr. Nilesh Shah takes care of the overall operations of the company including finance and manufacturing. They have their own retail shop in the name of Ajramar Computers in Mumbai. Swastik Computer imports raw materials from reputed companies abroad and also manufactures certain products and spares in their own plant in Mumbai. In an interaction with Imaging Solution magazine, Mr. Romik Shah, shares the profile of their company’s business operations, marketing strategy, and future plans.
Mr. Romik Shah shares, “The latest trend is there is a growing demand for color printer toner cartridges and toners in the corporate and education segment and inks—color and black, so our main focus for the coming one year will be on these products. There has been an increase in demand for inks—black and color—in-home segment due to the increasing trends of Work From Home and Study From Home. So we are also focusing on promoting our inkjet inks more actively. Next, we are one of the first manufacturers of dot-matrix ribbons since 1988 and AMI is a very old and reputed brand for these ribbons in the Indian market. The quality of our ribbons is higher than that of ribbons imported from China, so we are getting a very good response from the users. Every month we sell nearly 1500 dot-matrix ribbons each month. We are also providing copier toners and toner cartridges since 2019, which are doing well. But we are not providing copier machine parts right now.”
Remanufacturing laser toner cartridges, providing RC printers and printer repair services are their other important business operations of Swastik Computer. Their empty cartridges, inks, and other raw materials are imported from the best providers abroad to ensure good quality. Swastik Computer has its own manufacturing setup for ribbons & refill packs and is one of the largest manufacturers of ‘Dot Matrix Printer Ribbons’ in India. Their ribbons are designed, manufactured, and tested by skilled manpower. Their ribbons are compatible with dot-matrix printers of different brands including Epson, TVSE, Wipro, Lipi, and citizen.
Mr. Romik Shah comments, “For AMI brand, we maintain very high quality at affordable prices. For products other than Dot-matrix ribbons, we import from reputed manufacturers in China, Korea, and Japan. Our customers for AMI brand products like laser toner cartridges & cartridge parts, toners, laser printer machine spares, come from all over India, though most come from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh states. Our customers for remanufactured cartridges are mostly educational institutions, hospitals, and laboratories in Mumbai city.”
“We are also manufacturing and providing printer and cartridge spare parts and maintain good quality, affordable prices, and long-term relationships with our partners. Our AMI brand compatible cartridges are selling well. We have over 3000 well-connected dealers spread across the states to reach our products to other resellers and end-users,” adds

Talking about their future plans, Mr. Romik Shah comments, “The prices of black toners have gone up after the imposition of anti-dumping duty on black toners imported from China, Taiwan, and Malaysia. However, we are giving black toners to our customers at old rates by reducing a part of our own margins. Right now we want to focus more on promoting AMI color toner cartridges, color toners, and inks, besides others; we want to focus on the geographical areas where we are strong now. If things go fine, in 2022, we have plans to expand East and North-Eastern India markets. We also simultaneously want to further expand our activities in providing RC printers and printer repair services.”
