Under the able-guidance of Mr. Gaurav Khetterpal, an MBA from University of Wales UK, with a vision to create and supply quality products, the company sources raw material from reliable factories in China, Korea and Japan.
How is your brand doing at present?
Growlam has been the customer’s first choice when it comes to lamination and other products. We have always maintained the best quality standards for our products and our vision is to deliver best services to our clients. At Growlam, we have a team of Experienced Professionals to penetrate the market. Last year, we did our highest sales ever. We always work on customer feedback.
How is your lamination segment doing? Please elaborate!
Our laminators segment is performing well and we are getting very positive feedback from the market. We have recently launched new products – GL-P389 which is an A3 Plastic Laminator made of German technology and GL-P280 which is A4 Laminator high on quality and easy on price. The GL-P389 model takes only 80W power as compared to other laminators in the market which consumes 400W on average. These models have been designed keeping in mind the cost effectiveness and usage which is perfect for your office, school or home. To mention, price has been a major force for sales this year and at Growlam we have taken some great initiatives in this direction. We have Partner-Friendly Dealer Incentive Policies in place which act as ‘sales boosters’ to achieve our targets. We have also run special promotions & schemes. Despite increasing competition, Growlam has managed to grow due to focus on Consistent quality and Customer service.
What challenges do you face at present in the imaging consumables market?
This year, imaging consumables market has been steady particularly with reference to laser toner cartridges and laser & copier toners. Other aftermarket consumables like OPC Drums etc have been selling at minimal margins due to high supply and lower demand than last year. Many suppliers with low holding capacity are looking to cash in the stocks, even at loss, which is disturbing the market. However, we are expecting a good demand for all the imaging consumables in the coming months.
How does the dropping value of the dollar affect your imports and revenues?
With the sudden increase in USD value, our costs are expected to increase by 8-10%. There is enough supply in the market for most of the products, so increasing prices at this moment will affect the revenues. Because of this, we have to absorb some of the costs and try to average out the stocks if needed.
What schemes have you launched for the year-end season festive season?
This festive season, we launched Quarterly Incentive schemes to our partners to help them earn more profit. We are further strengthening our sales team in order to enhance our market share and to support our dealers to gain some extra secondary sales. We have also invested in setting up a system to generate leads on the Internet and these leads are passed on to our existing partners and dealers in different towns.
What are your future plans regarding new product launches, entering new areas, opening new branch offices, etc?
We have been constantly monitoring the changing market. To go to the next level, we are exploring new options and will be adding new products to our portfolio soon. We are also planning to open a branch office in East India to speed up deliveries and save freight costs for our dealers in the east. As a part of our expansion plans, we are venturing into the premium mobile accessories space under our new brand name of ‘TEMPT’ which will be sold offline through distribution channels and online through our own website and portals like Amazon, Flipkart, etc. Some of our existing partners will also distribute our mobile accessories and we will add some new partners to the list. As a group, we want to 3x our sales in the coming year driven by our two brands – Growlam and TEMPT. We are positive that we will continue to get love and support from the partners and customers and we will keep on improving Quality and Technology of our products from time to time.
