Hope you all enjoyed the festive season and are looking forward to an exciting year-end of 2022.

Looking back at 2021 we saw many positive changes—shipping charges from abroad have come down partly compensating the increases in prices due to increase in the value of USD vs ING, availability of goods in from abroad too improved, markets saw increases in demand with Covid moving behind and overall the situation is limping back to the normal levels. Though the demand for imaging products still not up to the expected levels and dropping value of INR vs USD has pushed up costs, overall the market looks optimistic.

This month’s main story is on ‘the way the printer inks are doing in the Indian market at present’. Most industry players see the printer inks market looking optimistic and the demand is expected to grow further driven by the requirements from the home segment and SOHOs. Finding fresh opportunity, some compatible inks providers also started manufacturing inks in India. On the negative side, many OEMs are giving free extra inks to the buyers of inkjet printers and cartridges, and compatibles providers feel this is a deliverate attempt by the OEMs to curb the growth of compatible inks in the market.

We hope things will get better in on all fronts in the industry in the coming year.
