Kyocera Corporation announced that it has been recognized by CDP among the world’s leading enterprises as an “A List 2023” company for environmental transparency and performance in combating climate change. CDP, an international non-profit, promotes a global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to monitor and reduce environmental impacts. This marks the third time that Kyocera has been listed.
CDP plays a crucial role in encouraging and guiding companies to prioritize environmental transparency and take action. Each year, CDP uses its independent scoring methodology to evaluate companies’ disclosures and strategies — from A to D-minus — and announces the leaders with its “A List” designation.
CDP scored over 21,000 companies worldwide in compiling The A List 2023. After CDP’s thorough evaluation, Kyocera was included among less than 400 companies that received an “A” grade for their environmental disclosures.
The Kyocera Group prioritizes responding to climate change alongside its key business challenges and is focused on achieving carbon neutrality by fiscal year 2051. Kyocera is fully committed to the guidelines set by the Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). These include establishing strong governance within the company, conducting scenario analysis to assess risks and opportunities, reviewing business strategies, implementing renewable energy solutions across its locations, and adopting energy-saving measures.
The Kyocera Group will continue to work toward a sustainable, low-carbon society by pursuing new greenhouse gas reduction methods, wider deployment of renewable energy, and additional innovations to combat climate change.
