ProDot is the brand name of Datalink Industrial Corporation based out of New Delhi. ProDot, with branch offices spread across the nation, for the past three decades, has been engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of a wide range of printer consumables and IT peripherals across different regions of India. In recent years, ProDot witnessed remarkable growth in the industry. In an interaction with Imaging Solution magazine, Aarushi Rajpal, Director of ProDot, shares their company’s plans and Make in India outlook.
Aarushi shares, “ProDot has a wide range of product portfolio of 400, including imaging and IT products. The Indian Government has been encouraging domestic companies to Make in India so that India can become self-reliant and this is a good thing for the nation. ProDot is one of the staunch supporters of the government’s Make in India initiative and we will focus more on Make in India in the coming times. Today, starting from molding and assembling to packaging, ProDot is able to do everything in India for manufacturing cartridges. We have about 15 Made in India models of cartridges. We are looking forward to more business from the government sector. Now, we are trying to Make in India as many of our products as possible.”
ProDot’s wide range of products includes DMP and laserjet compatible cartridges, refilling aids, computer peripherals, computer accessories, laptop accessories, photo papers and antivirus products. ProDot offers a wide variety of model-wise compatible and remanufactured printer and toner cartridges and toner powders that best suit the printers of the leading brands like HP, Samsung, Canon, Epson, Brother, Lexmark, etc. Coming to quality, ProDot’s compatible cartridges are comparable to OEMs and available at a fraction of OEM prices.
“The Indian government is one of the biggest consumers of Imaging & IT products in India. Earlier the government used to tender only for OEM cartridges, but now the government’s focus has shifted to Made in India compatible cartridges and toners. This is a very good development for the domestic manufacturers,” adds Aarushi
ProDot has a wide distribution network with 18 branch offices, more than 600 distributors, and 12,000 plus retailers spread across the country. This strong distribution channel makes their products easily accessible to the end-users. Datalink Industrial Corporation is an ISO 9001:2008; CE and FCC certified company and every product manufactured is closely tested and inspected by quality control engineers before it is dispatched to the customers. ProDot has already joined ‘Make in India’ campaign with their keyboards and mice being manufactured at their production house in Dehradun.
Talking about their channel policy and future plans, Aarushi Comments, “We and our partners all must maintain decent ethical standards while doing business. Apart from that, the mantras for success are hard work and willingness to take a calculated risk. If the partners maintain these principles, it will bring success and pleasure to everyone and this is our message to partners. And I want to thank all our partners who have been very hardworking and cooperative with us although. Anti-dumping duty on black toners has pushed up the prices of toner powders to some extent, but it is necessary for making India Atmanirbhar. We plan to launch several new products in the coming times and focus more on Make in India and Atmanirbar Bharat. I believe in ‘being Indian, buying Indian products, and supporting the country.’ Soon we will expand our channel network further to increase our reach and our vision is Prodot should become the most desired and affordable brand in India backed by best quality and service.”
