Nilshikhar Marketing to strengthen presence in Bihar and expand into East Indian states

Nilshikhar Marketing is a Patna-based (Bihar) distributor of imaging consumables, Lamination Goods, Stationery and office automation products. Founded in 2011, Nilshikhar Marketing is a exclusive distributor for Blue Streak and Copian brands for imaging consumables in the Bihar region. Recently, they started distribution of Kent brand office automation products which include lamination machines, lamination pouches, stationery, spiral binding machines, etc. Today, Nilshikhar, growing at an annual rate of 20%, wants to strengthen their presence in Bihar region for imaging products and expand into the surrounding states of Eastern India to provide Kent brand office automation products.

In an interaction with Imaging Solution magazine, B.S. Baranwal, Business Manager of Nilshikhar Marketing, shares, “In general, business for imaging products as much as for other product categories has been stagnant after demonetization and then followed by GST apprehensions–people have liquidated their old stocks quickly fearing problems. Now the market is opening and business is picking up. We hope the situation will improve further in the coming months. In the long-run GST will be good particularly for those who want to expand business into other states. Our main selling points are we offer good quality products, our deals are transparent and we maintain good relations with customers. At present we operate only in Bihar for imaging consumables. Our focus remains more or monochrome products for imaging, not much on color. As far as Kent brand office automation products are concerned we have started our work of distributing in the other states also where our personnel are working. Regarding future plans, for imaging products we want to establish strongly in Bihar region. Demand for compatible toners is growing. The demand for compatible inks is not much in this part of the country as many low-quality products are selling here bringing down customer confidence. As far as expanding our portfolio is concerned, if there are new products with good margin and vendor support, we are open to adding them to our list.”
