Sumangalam International: Emerged as most dependable names in Indian Remanufacturing Industry

Sumanglam is a leading name in the market for printer consumables. It is a strong force both in OEM supply and brand marketing segments. The company markets its range by its own brand Odyssey. The products designed by Sumanglam are durable and qualitative.

There is famous quotes of Thomas A. Edison, “The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, common sense.” This quote is characterized on an old stalwart of the Indian Remanufacturing Industry. He believes that the company has come to such a long way with sincere hard work by keeping devotion towards the customer’s needs. The person is none other than Sharad Midha, Manging Director of Sumangalam International. The company owes its success due to vision and entrepreneurship of Midha.

Sumanglam is a leading name in the market for printer consumables. The Company has emerged as one of the most dependable names for the recycling products in India. It is a strong force both in OEM supply and brand marketing segments. The company markets its range by its own brand Odyssey. The products designed by Sumanglam are durable and qualitative.

“About 18-19 years back AQC group looking for an Indian distributor. I was taking up the opportunity. At that time no one take laser toner in India. In fact, there is no competition in the Indian market. We introduce SX toner in India,” recalls, Sharad Midha, Manging Director of Sumangalam International. “Then competition arises after sometimes. We also approached SCC. No company’s take-up the toner business due to rate fluctuation,” Midha added further.
 “After sometime we moved to Taiwan and decided to launch our own brand Odyssey. We take labor from India and moved to Taiwan,” said, Midha.
In the initial days, margins were not such a big consideration for the company, as much as getting the customers and also building goodwill was, but somewhere along the way, the thinking is now clearly focused towards value and value driven agenda.
“Earlier, the people in the market are trustworthy, now they have changed. Infact, photocopier markets are stable but the laser market is not organized. In the coming time, smaller industries will not survive,” said, Midha.
India is a price=sensitive market and healthy competition is always welcomed. “Since the market is growing and we see lots of space for every player (New or Existing) who is committed to offer affordability and quality. More players mean more visibility of the product and that would drive to buy the best value for money product,” said, Midha.
“We are known in the market for the best quality and services which we render and the segment which we cater. We have well established our brand. We do not see any threat with more or new players now or in near future,” said, Midha.
Sumanglam has 50 % of market share in printer consumables. The refilling market is facing stiff competition but by marinating quality, the company has managed to stay on top. The company sells its products at very reasonable price. For this service in return the company gets the customer’s trust.
